Finding the Homeopathic Medicine
• If there is heavy, bright red bleeding, gushing and throbbingpain, look first at Belladonna.
• If the pain is lessened by heat and pressure, think first ofMagnesia phosphorica, then of Colocynthis.
• For pain is very intense and the woman is terribly angryand inconsolable, look at Chamomilla.
• If the woman feels better when drawing her knees up toher chest, give Colocynthis.
• If the pain began after anger, think of Nux vomica,Colocynthis, and Belladonna.
• If the pain came on after too much alcohol or rich food,give Nux vomica.
Self Care and Home Remedies
• Alternating hot and cold sitz baths: soak in tub of moderatelyhot water for five minutes, then in a tub of cold water up tothe navel with knees bent for one minute. Alternate two tothree times.
• Walking stretching and other physical exercise cansometimes help.
• For muscle cramps, Calcium and Magnesium can help.
• Take Viburnum tincture: one half teaspoon every hour, upto six doses. The dosage for capsules depends on thespecific product.
• A heating pad is often helpful.
• Castor oil packed to the abdomen with a heating pad cansometimes relieve discomfort.
Avoid caffeine and salt premenstrually
